Wassily Kandinsky - Composition VIII, (1923)

According to very important organization, ‘World Economic Forum’ the skills that will need most on entrepreneurship by 2020, which are all of them what we call, soft skills, are Complex Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Cognitive Flexibility, EQ, People Management  etc.

In my articles titled ‘All are CS’, we will deal with these very important skills except Creativity, Complex Problem Solving and Critical Thinking also for Connection of Things, Communication, Collaboration, Creative Leadership. Starting with Creativity which in my opinion is the most important and basic skill of all, (in the future will be the first most important skill), even if you want to solve a problem, communicate and collaborate, also is one as well of the basic elements of critical thinking, for the Leaders and Managers and in every element on entrepreneurship and <behind> everything in our life.

 Once, the Author poet and literary editor, William Plomer had said, 'Creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected', and Steve Jobs later added that 'Creativity is just connecting things ... That's because (Creative people) were able to connect experiences they had and synthesize new and (seemingly)  different things'.

 What is Creativity?

 ‘Creativity is marked by the ability or power to create or bring into existence, to invest with a new form, to produce through imaginative skill, to make or bring into existence something new’.

 Through my artistic career and as a Co-Founder Director of ‘Art InSide Business’, working with other artists, entrepreneurs, people with different backgrounds, major firms, organizations and institutions, one is sure, that we can all be creative, as long as we practice it via the triptych, as I say in my seminars and lectures, Acceptability, Acceptance and Earning, from people, Ideas, elements, all kind of things and means, based on Critical Thought, (where we are gonna discuss in another article). Of course, creativity is not just a privilege for artists. Artists just simply exist, live, and breathe for it or through that. But also in entrepreneurship some people they lived or live with it, such as Henry Ford, Richard Branson, Steve Jobs etc. Creativity at its highest point is to connect the IQ with EQ and both to work in balance.

 To express and expand also our creativity, we need imagination. Without imagination and training our mind, creativity could not exist, more especially innovation.

The four stages after for Creativity

  • Preparation (preparatory work on a problem that focuses the individual's mind on the problem and explores the problem's dimensions),
  • Incubation (where the problem is internalized into the unconscious mind and nothing appears externally to be happening),
  • Illumination or insight (where the creative idea bursts forth from its pre conscious processing into conscious awareness);
  • Verification (where the idea is consciously verified, elaborated, and then applied).

An important path for increasing our creativity is to increasing our knowledge, to become polymaths, learning from anything surrounds the human being and existence.

Those who are routinely creative are skilled at connecting information from various sources in new and different ways. Creative entrepreneurs, thinkers and artists use their own experiences and aspirations as a starting point for dreaming up new things. When their own experience is insufficient, they go straight to the source and partner with people who are more embedded in a culture than they are.

Science suggests that creativity involves a complex interplay between spontaneous and controlled thinking – the ability to both spontaneously brainstorm ideas and deliberately evaluate them to determine whether they’ll actually work and people with stronger connections came up with better ideas.

On the next part, I will talk about the Creative Network, the Elements of Creativity and more about it.
